Ballade des pendus : Poor Bizet who died without knowing the success of this Opera. Now it's the opera which is the most plays in the world. It is so sad this poor artists who can't have success and glory in their life but the recognizance come after their death...
Karin Anna Maria : I had a wonderful French teacher when I was 13 or 14, and she let us listen to this wonderful opera. We analyzed the libretto, which may seem very advanced but in fact the French in Carmen isn't so difficult. Ever since then I have loved this opera. I met an old school mate who doesn't listen to classical music, but he said that he loved Carmen because of this gifted teacher. His parents never introduced him to opera. He said that he always "hums" lyrics from Carmen even though he has forgotten what they mean. I love when childhood memories really stick to you. And carmen is full of hits!
